$450.00 +GST

This course provides an overview of Australia’s superannuation system and provides you with the specialist knowledge and skills necessary to understand, navigate, and advise on superannuation. The course contains 12 interactive learning modules and an assessment quiz providing you with 20 CPD hours.

The course content reviews the development of superannuation together with the legislative basis, the industry structure, and market participants. This is followed by an analysis of the investment and tax rules of superannuation – often the key features of a superannuation fund as far as clients are concerned.

Practitioners need to understand the rules for putting money into and taking money out of superannuation and so the requirements for making contributions and roll overs, and for taking lump sums or commencing income streams are examined. The specialised area of small funds such as SMSFs is also explained. Finally, as superannuation is a key pillar of government policy to deliver income for retirement, retirement planning, the interaction of superannuation with the social security system is considered.

You will have access to the course for 180 days to complete the learning and the assessment. The assessment can be attempted once all course material has been viewed. There are 60 multiple choice questions. If you fail the assessment, it can be re-attempted until the pass mark of 80% of answers correct is achieved. Throughout the course material there are ‘review’ questions to aid your learning, these are not part of the assessment but provide an indication of the type of questions you will see in the assessment quiz.
